Gene Boles is the founder of Building Livable Communities, Inc. and a Senior Fellow of the Program for Resource Efficient Communities at the University of Florida. He is the coordinator and principal editor of the Florida Planning Officials Training Program. He served as the Director of the Hillsborough County Planning and Growth Management Department from 1991 through 1998 and previously served in senior management positions in Missouri, Oklahoma and South Carolina. He received his graduate education in city planning from Georgia Tech. Mr. Boles was inducted into the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Certified Planners (FAICP) in 2008.
