PLANNING OFFICIALS TRACK
The American Planning Association defines Planning Official as any appointed or elected official involved in planning decisions for the betterment of a community, region, state, or country. These planning officials play a pivotal role in planning and growth management in Florida.
The University of Florida’s Urban and Regional Planning Department, a PAB-accredited graduate planning program, has developed a training curriculum for Florida planning officials in collaboration with agencies and organizations committed to the advancement of planning and growth management in Florida.
How Does the Planning Official Benefit?
The planning official receives basic instruction about planning and growth management in Florida, his/her role and how to do the job more effectively. Each participant will leave the course with a Certificate of Completion and a Florida Planning Officials Handbook containing the course material along with important reference material and information sources.
